Paula and Ricky started Deliverance in Cape Town after working together for many years in the SA film industry as an Editor /Producer team. The thinking for Deliverance was simple; create an environment where one can focus on the creative, while delivering a service that is both comfortable and professional for our clients.
A secure property was found in the inner city, centered perfectly among the Cape Town Film Industry. It consists of two Edit suites, Production office, Client lounge, music library, Boardroom and outside smoking area for those who still feel the need.
Anthony Lee Martin then joined Ricky and Paula. With his eager attitude and background in music he fitted well into the creative team. He has since proven to be a real talent firmly establishing him within the industry. The final member is Victoria, whose many talents include making the worlds best cappuccinos.
Deliverance presently services mostly the commercial market, locally and internationally, and is lucky to have a long list of award winning Directors and Agencies as its clients. Both Ricky and Anthony have past experience with sound and music production, and apply this knowledge to the attention they give to sound on every one of their projects, be it a simple library music search, to a multi-tracked sfx design build to accompany their edits. These aspects along with the experience of well over twenty years in the film industry, has placed them uniquely in the commercial editing market, and has resulted in the many successes they have enjoyed.
Having worked with many editing systems over the years, we finally settled with AVID as the system of choice for Deliverance. Presently we have three Windows based systems, two in comfortable Edit Suites, and one mobile laptop system. We have upgraded them all to the latest Media Composer software and invested in the award winning DX MOJOs, allowing us to work seamlessly with many of the new HD camera formats that are establishing themselves within the industry of late. These tools continue to evolve and allow us ever more control over the look of the final product. We also have various audio tools, which complement our love for sound design.
Today the difference between off-line and on-line editing has become clouded as the technology leaps ahead, and although these systems are extremely powerful and are capable of answering most of todays POST demands, we at Deliverance continue to focus on what we believe is the most important...
